 Ponda is a small town located to the southeast of Panaji. The city is only 28 km away from the capital city of Goa, Panaji. From Margao the city is only 17 km to the north-east. The city has developed just adjacent to the largest iron ore mine of the state. As a result there is quite an industrial hub around the place. The place is famous for its vegetarian cuisine and you will no doubt love to taste it.
 The city of Ponda is easily accessible. The nearest airport is at Dabolim. Ponda has a very important Panaji-Bangalore National Highway 4 passing through it.
