 Panaji is the seat of administration in Goa. It is situated in a Tiswadi sub division. Although the Portuguese have left Goa many years ago, this beautiful city is still the treasure trove of many wonderful memories of the Portuguese rule. Goa is a perfect example of the co-existence of the old and the new. While the imposing mansions built during the Portuguese rule evokes a nostalgia, the new examples of architectural excellence has made Goa one of the most happening places on earth.
 Panaji is very easily accessible and has become one of the many tourist hot spots in western India. The city is only 29 km away from the Dabolim Airport. The nearest railhead is at Karmali, only 5 km away. National Highway 17 passes through the city. Communication is never a big problem here. There are a number of airlines that connect Goa with other parts of the country. The Railway services too are quite good.
 Panaji is a modern and happening city. It has the spirit that has made Goa so famous. Shopping is a compulsory pastime for tourists to Panaji. Here you will find everything starting from curios to leather goods or garments to handicrafts. Panaji has also a number of attractions. The famous Dona Paula Beach and Miramar Beach are very near the city and tourists make it a point to visit the beaches. Among other places of attraction that you will find in Panaji, Institute Menezes Braganza, Kala Academy, Goa State Museum, Mary Immaculate Conception Church and Mahalaxmi Temple are to name a few.
